If there’s one thing we’ve learned since the 2008 election, it’s that having Democratic majorities in Congress isn’t enough. We need a pro-equality majority. ElectEquality is a program that was created for the LGBT community who want to elect and protect the pro-equality Democratic candidates we need in office.

During the 2010 election cycle, We were able to make 105, 231 calls for our ElectEquality candidates, we knocked on 59, 353 doors,  generated over 5,623 volunteer hours to our ElectEquality candidates by placing our eleven EqualiTeam organizers with Stonewall Affiliates around the country in support of ElectEquality candidates. And that’s not all – each Equaliteam organizer helped write and publish local and national Op-Eds and Letter-to-the-Editors, canvassed for our pro-equality champions, and raised the awareness on the campaign trail for LGBT issues across the country.

On November 3rd, we wanted to be able to measure the difference we made for pro-equality Democrats. So we tracked everything the ElectEquality organizers accomplished between August 30th and Election Day. We were able to accomplish the following:

5,623 hours volunteered.
59,353 doors knocked.
105,231 phone calls made.
